Travelex exchange rates in store or the airport
Travelex have a number of handy store locations including the airport - but it's not your cheapest option.
Exchange rates in-store aren't as good as online unless you are doing a larger amount over $2,000 and are prepared to negotiate. Even then, they may not offer you a rate as good as their own website.
The airport should be avoided at all costs. The fees and exchange rates at Australian airports are close to (if not) the worst in the country. It would be easier and cheaper to use your everyday debit card overseas - and that's saying something!
Travelex exchange rates to sell currency
You can only sell currency to Travelex in store or at the airport.
The exchange rates to sell your currency are incredibly hard to find. They are not available online and each branch will offer different rates depending on your currency and amount.
Travelex Money Card Exchange Rates
For the Travelex Money Card, you can use the currency calculator on their website. However Travelex quotes the market rate, which is not necessarily the rate you will get when you load currencies on your card.
Travelex sets the exchange rate at the time you move your funds from one currency to another. If you don't have enough currency in your account and have made a purchase, Travelex will use the Mastercard® exchange rate (“FX Rate”) plus a margin of 5.95% of the transaction value to cover the cost.
